Nami Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 July 2026
Last updated: 16 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Nami (“Nami,” “we,” “us,” or “the bot”) accesses, processes, stores, and discloses information when Nami is installed in a Discord server or otherwise used through Discord.

Nami is a multipurpose Discord community, entertainment, and utility bot operated by the developer known on Discord as @bartolomaios.

Nami’s most frequently used features integrate with the Karuta Discord bot. These include Antimole clan tracking, node and tax history, attack and grace calculations, character analysis, scanning, and reaction-based utilities.

Nami also provides features unrelated to Karuta, including:

Nami is not operated by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Discord or Karuta. Discord and Karuta process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

1. Scope

This policy applies to Nami’s Discord application, bot features, and official website.

It does not apply to Discord, Karuta, or other third-party services, even when Nami reads or responds to information posted by those services inside Discord.

2. Information Nami processes

Depending on which features are enabled or used, Nami may process the following categories of information.

Discord identifiers and metadata

Nami may process:

These identifiers allow Nami to associate commands, balances, games, reservations, settings, and other feature data with the correct user or server.

Commands and message content

Nami may process message text, embeds, attachments, components, message edits, and reply references when required by one of its features.

This includes:

Nami’s Message Content access is restricted using factors such as command prefixes, sending-bot IDs, recognized embed titles and formats, reply relationships, reactions, enabled features, and configured channels.

Nami’s databases, structured feature files, operational logs containing Discord API data, and backups are encrypted at rest on operator-controlled, self-hosted storage.

Nami is not designed to create a general archive of ordinary server conversations. Ordinary chat messages are not intentionally stored as a chat history.

Attachments submitted to supported image-processing features may be downloaded temporarily while the requested operation is completed.

Community, game, and economy data

Depending on the features used, Nami may store:

Nami’s virtual game features do not require Nami to collect payment-card or banking information.

If donations are handled through an external service, that service processes payment information under its own privacy policy. Nami may retain only the supporter or premium eligibility needed to provide the applicable feature.

Karuta-related feature data

When Karuta-related features are enabled or used, Nami may store:

Image-processing data

When a user submits an image or Discord attachment to an image-processing feature, such as card merging, scanning, or character analysis, Nami may temporarily download and process the file.

Nami may store limited results derived from an image when required by the feature, such as recognized character information, wishlist values, or image references.

Nami does not use submitted images or message content to train machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models.

Operational information

Nami may keep limited operational information, including:

Nami also uses a bounded in-memory message-metadata cache for reliability. This cache may contain message IDs, author IDs and names, channel IDs, server IDs, and timestamps. It does not contain raw message text and is cleared when the bot process restarts.

3. How Nami uses information

Nami uses information only to:

Nami does not use Discord API data or message content for:

4. Storage and disclosure

Nami’s bot, databases, logs, and backups are hosted on private, self-hosted infrastructure controlled by Nami’s operator. Nami does not use a third-party cloud-hosting or managed-database provider to store its bot data.

Access to the infrastructure and stored data is restricted to Nami’s operator.

Feature output is sent through Discord and is therefore processed by Discord under Discord’s own terms and privacy policy.

Nami does not sell Discord API data or disclose it to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

Information may only be disclosed:

5. Retention

Nami applies the following retention principles.

Ordinary message content

Nami does not intentionally retain a general archive of ordinary conversations.

Supported message content and attachments are generally retained only for the time necessary to process the applicable feature.

Account and feature records

Virtual balances, game state, queue reservations, reminders, configuration, premium access records, Karuta history, and other structured records are retained while reasonably necessary to provide the applicable feature or requested history.

These records may also be retained until a valid deletion request is completed.

Operational records

Diagnostic logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate reliability, security, and abuse issues. Logs are manually rotated or deleted when they are no longer required for those purposes.

Backups

Residual copies may temporarily remain in backups stored on the operator’s self-hosted infrastructure.

Backup data is access-restricted, is not used for ordinary feature processing, and is removed or overwritten through normal backup maintenance.

Nami may retain limited information for longer when required by law, necessary to protect the service or its users, or needed to document a privacy or abuse request.

6. User choices and data requests

Server administrators can control Nami by:

Users may opt out of Nami’s processing of messages authored by them by contacting @bartolomaios on Discord. After a verified opt-out request, Nami records the user’s Discord ID in an access-restricted opt-out list and uses that ID only to prevent further processing.

Opted-out users will not have their authored messages used to begin new passive scans or other message-content features. Users may also request deletion of applicable data previously associated with their Discord ID.

Users may avoid directly invoking Nami, ask a server administrator to restrict the relevant feature, and request deletion of stored information associated with their Discord ID.

Users and server administrators may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting @bartolomaios on Discord.

Requests should include:

Additional verification may be requested to prevent unauthorized access to or deletion of another person’s information.

Removing Nami, leaving a server, or revoking a Discord authorization does not itself submit a formal data request. Contact the operator when access, correction, or deletion is required.

Valid requests will be handled within the time required by applicable law and Discord’s Developer Terms.

7. Security

Nami uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss.

Access to Nami’s self-hosted databases, files, backups, and administrative systems is restricted. However, no online service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Children’s privacy

Nami is not directed to children below the minimum age required to use Discord in their country.

If you believe Nami has stored information relating to someone who is not eligible to use Discord, contact the operator so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Nami’s features or data practices change.

The effective and last-updated dates will be revised when changes are published. Material changes may also be announced through Nami’s official Discord surfaces.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or data-access, correction, or deletion requests, contact Nami’s operator on Discord:
